Class Descriptions


Computer Basics 101 is a course that's designed specifically for those who are completely new to computers or who feel they need to have more instruction before they can feel confident to move forward in their learning. Instruction covers Parts of the Computer, How to use a Mouse, How to Access Programs, Window Components, and Keyboard Shortcuts.


This class builds on skills learned in Computer Basics 101. Topics include understanding drives including flash drives, creating folders to organize your files, learn to use Windows Explorer to navigate to your files and create files to understand how to save them.


Learn the fundamental tools for navigating and editing spreadsheets! Patrons will explore the powerful features of the ribbon and learn the best ways to navigate workbooks. You’ll learn time saving secrets of formatting and text editing for creating reports as well as the basics of creating formulas and charts.


Gain more control over your spreadsheets and learn more about creating reports! After reviewing the basics of formatting and editing, patrons will gain hands on experience creating a spreadsheet by creating formulas and designing charts. You will also learn important skills for sorting and filtering databases.


This class covers the most requested advanced features patrons requested! Learn how to do mail merges and integrate Excel spreadsheets into Word. If Then statements will also be covered.


Learn to identify and navigate the basics features in Gmail. Learn to use appropriate email etiquette. Read, send, forward and reply to e-mail messages. Attach documents and graphics to an email transmission. Learn to download attached files. Gmail account needed for this class.


You have sent and received your first email in Gmail 101. Now it is time to learn some more features of using email to communicate online by formatting, creating folders, and managing sent and received emails. Activate e-mail options, e.g. signature, vacation responses. Gmail account needed for this class.


Have a Gmail account? Now learn what you can do other than sending emails. This class is an introduction to exploring, sharing and searching the calendar. Create and share documents and presentations using the features in Google Drive. Collect information from anyone using Forms. Gmail account needed for this class.


Learn to identify and navigate the basics elements of Internet Explorer. Perform simple Web searches and learn to refine your search. Copy and paste Web text and graphics to a Word document and protect your computer with online safety basics.

NEW! Intro to HTML/CSS3

In the first part of Web Design with HTML and CSS, you will begin by examining the basics of foundational web technology and create your own functional web pages using the latest specification of Hypertext Markup Language (HTML5). In addition, you will learn how to incorporate style information into your pages using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS3).

NEW! Intro to iPHONE

You will learn the basics of how to use the iPhone, including navigation techniques, working with apps, setting up email, managing contacts, and more.

NEW! Intro to TYPING

Introduction to Typing is ideal for anyone who is looking to improve their typing speeds or those who have not learned the proper way to type in the first place.


In this Beginners WordPress class, you will start by learning the step by step basics of creating a WordPress website.


Learn the fundamental skills for creating dynamic, professional presentations. After exploring the powerful features of the ribbon, patrons will create a customized slide show. You will be introduced to inserting pictures, transitions and animations as well as using the slide master and choosing styles to personalize your reports.


You will learn which social media platforms are best for your business and how to create a strategy for effectively using them. Social media platforms covered in depth include LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.

WORD 101

Learn the fundamental tools for one of the most popular programs used for creating resumes and letters! After exploring the powerful features of the ribbon, patrons will learn how to format and edit text. You will also learn how to customize spacing and create bulleted and numbered lists.

WORD 201

Build on the skills learned in WORD 101 to create professional reports and print material! Patrons will build on their text editing and formatting skills to create customized tables. This class will also help you use the tools for inserting pictures, art and shapes to design your own invitations or newsletters.

Surf the web. Check your email. Write a resume.

The iExplore Lab is the biggest lab in the library with a total of 47 PCs with the option to use a scanner. Scan your library card to reserve a computer at the reservation kiosk or ask the Help Desk for assistance. There is a time limit of 2 hours per day. Computers are available on a first come, first serve basis.

  • 47 computers equipped with Windows 7. Windows 10 will be available in the near future.
  • Scanners available upon request.
  • Quiet, friendly environment.


  • The lab has both a black and white and color printer. 10 cents per B&W page, .50 cents per color page.
  • All print jobs sent remotely are stored for 72 hours and then permanently deleted if not printed.

  • Save model to a flash drive as an .STL file, bring to us and we'll print it! $1 per 10 grams of filament, rounded to the nearest dollar.

Reserve a computer for up to 4 hours at the help desk or by calling 970-962-2599. Walk-ins are available on a first come, first serve basis.
