I am a techno geek and have been since I picked up the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. My love for the latest tech toys spills over into my passion for science and alternative histories. While I love tech, I still enjoy history especially archaeology. I appreciate music both new and old. My listening ranges from Steely Dan to Panic at the Disco. I also like listening to podcasts. Some of my favorites are Pop Culture Happy Hour, Freakonomics, and Hard Core History. Not sure what to read or listen to but looking for something new and interesting, just ask and I am sure we can find something that you will like.
Andres Neuman, The Things We Don’t Do“To narrate is to seduce: never completely satisfy the reader’s curiosity.” William Gass, author of Eyes: Novellas and Short Stories“The true alchemists do not change lead into gold; they change the world into words.” Azar Nafisi, Reading Lolita in Tehran“Do not, under any circumstances, belittle a work of fiction by trying to turn it into a carbon copy of life; what we search for in fiction is not so much reality but epiphany of truth.”
I look for books that draw me into the characters’ lives with an intensity that, when I finish, I mourn the loss of the time we’ve spent together. I look for language that takes my breath away, with either its beauty or its starkness. I look for stories that allow for ambiguity of outcomes, but give me a good thriller any day to fill in the gaps. Some of my favorite books are The Dog Stars, by Peter Heller, The Story of Edgar Sawtelle by David Wroblewski, and The Round House by Louise Erdrich. I have two favorite audios: A Tale for the Time Being, by Ruth Ozeki, and How to Be Both, by Ali Smith. I have two addictions – coffee and book discussion groups. I’m a lover of deserts, mountains and prairies, music feeds my soul, I love to walk my bad dog Chaco, and the idea of owning NOTHING fascinates me.
Knitter and crafter, old movie buff-love old detective movies from the 1930s, cook extraordinaire, and paperback romance junkie. Favorite reads take place in Middle Ages, regency, American west 1880s, contemporary American west, small town USA, and a few fantasy romance authors. Some of my favorite authors are Kristin Hannah, Linda Lael Miller, Mary Balogh, Mary Jo Putney, Elizabeth Lowell, Mariah Stewart, Grace Burrowes, Robin D. Owens and Jayne Castle.
Avid Animal Advocate, Hiker of Mountains, Grandma on the move, Life-long Learner, self –help guru, always- on- a- diet friend, lover of history and math, adult coloring book practitioner, tai chi chih beginner, mural artist, sci-fi geek. I have worn many hats over the years, from artist, mom, engineering student, teacher and now librarian. I Love to learn something new so tend to focus on “how –to” non -fiction books about any subject, historical fiction and with some sci-fi thrown in. My personal goal is to walk 10,000 steps and have a good laugh each and every day.

I love Colorado (moved here in 2002) and I love getting out and enjoying the outdoors, especially on my bicycle. I also have an attraction to all
manner of cars & motorcycles, so I guess if it’s on wheels I’m into it. I feel incredibly lucky to live so close to a gem like Rocky Mountain National Park and love visiting parks across the country, from Olympic to Everglades. I like to try and wrap my head around mind bending concepts like cosmology, but I’m not always successful, so then I’ll just go listen to the greatest music ever made, heavy metal \m/. I’m into just about any sport you can name, from football to Formula 1 and World Rally racing. I buy most of the DVDs, and science, show biz, & sports books for the library, so if you have any suggestions or we share similar interests get in touch and we’ll find you a great book, album, movie, documentary, or podcast!

I love to garden in my free time and be outside either with my plants, or walking/hiking with my black lab, Finn. I am all about Audiobooks, and recommend them to anyone who just wants to be read to. I don’t see anything wrong with reading a book over and over again. Or listening to it!
Music - I have a background in Classical music with a passion for many other music traditions such as Jazz, Blues, R&B, World, and Hard Rock. Whether you are interested in the latest biography about your favorite rock star or want a recommendation on late 19th century symphonic works on CD or download, I can help. If you play music professionally, I may be looking to book someone for one of our events. Please contact me! Western and Eastern philosophy & religion - I’ve spent a lot of time surveying the various thought systems from both traditions; from Aristotle to Zizek to the Buddha through Nisargadatta Maharaj. If you have an interest in the big questions about life, reality, meaning, love, ethics, or chopping wood and carrying water, come and see me I’ll locate something for you. Quickly...what’s the sound of one hand clapping? SciFi/Fantasy, historical fiction, and psychological thrillers, classics - I’m all over the map when it comes to Fiction so just ask :)
I love spending time outdoors fishing, biking, running, and hiking. Though we’re fairly new to Colorado, my family and I have embraced much of the culture including skiing and mountain biking. I’m originally from South Texas so I’m always looking for great Mexican food and BBQ. When I make the time, I write music in my home studio. I’m primarily a pianist but also play a little guitar and bass. I’m a sucker for Jazz Fusion and am crazy about great drummers. I love meeting people and learning about their talents and interests. I also love creating collaborative projects and partnerships.
