March 4th-10th is Teen Tech Week and we're celebrating teen tech creations with a Snapchat Geofilter contest.
How do I make a Geofilter?
You can go to madewithcode.com online and find a Geofilter maker tool. A link to https://madewithcode.com/projects can be found on the desktops of all of the computers in the Loveland Public Library TeenSeen or you can create a geofilter from a computer at home.
How do I enter the contest?
The LPL Teen Geofilter contest is for teens ages 11-17 years old. When you've finished your Geofilter hit the done button. You'll be able to share your creation via social media or download the image. To enter the contest tag the Loveland Public Library Teen Department on social media, post it on our page or email the file directly to Alexandria.Taberski@cityofloveland.org. Post your geofilter on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/LovelandPublicLibraryTeenSeen/ Tag us on Twitter @LPLTeenSeen or message us on Tumblr @LPLteenseen. Make sure you check the email address or social media account that you used to send your Geofilter, that's how we will contact you if you won.
When is it?
Submit your Geofilters between the dates of March 4th and March 10th. Winners will be announced on March 17th.
How will I know if I won?
If you are selected as a winner you will be contacted by the Loveland Public Library Teen Department via the same method of contact you used to send your contest entry by March 17th.
What can I win?
Winners will have their Geofilter shared across all the Loveland Public Library Teens social media accounts (who doesn't love a shout out?). You will also be awarded a food coupon of your choice that can be picked up at the TeenSeen during the month of March. Your Geofilter may not be made available to use on Snapchat. If your Geofilter is made available to use on Snapchat you will be contacted with that information.
I don't want to make a Geofilter but I want to participate in Teen Tech Week
No problem, we have tech activities going on all month long, Stop in the TeenSeen or check the calendar to see what we have going on. If you make a tech creation share it with us on social media or show a Loveland Public Library Teen Services librarian in person and we will showcase it online or in the TeenSeen. A Teen Tech Day will be held from 2pm-4pm on Monday March 12th where you can learn how to use a Carvey machine and see inside a server in the iCreate Lab or learn how to use a green screen, make a short film and participate in a tech take apart in the TeenSeen.
