The technology lab in the Media Department is open during regular library hours except during some hours of the week for scheduled training sessions. A schedule is available at the Media Desk.

Procedure for Internet Sign-up/Waiting List

You must sign-up to use the Internet with a valid ID at the nearest service desk.

Sign-up for internet access in the Technology Center is for one hour.

The amount of access time will not be enforced until a waiting list is created.

A waiting list will be started when the Technology Center is full.

Those people who have been on the longest (for at least 1 hour or more) will be asked to forfeit their machine.

We will continue to remove people (of those that have been on for at least an hour or more) until the waiting list is gone.

In an effort to allow equal access to everyone, those people who were removed from any internet station in the public library may not get back on any Internet station for a minimum of one hour.

The two Internet stations located by the Adult Services desk are ‘reference priority’. If a person is waiting for one of the stations for research or academic use they will be given priority over all other users.

The Internet station located by the Youth Services desk is ‘youth priority’. This machine is the only ‘filtered access point’ in the Library. Any child or youth will be given priority over any adult, regardless of intended use.

The amount of time allotted for the Adult Services and Youth Services internet stations is 30 minutes. If there is no one waiting to use the machine at the end of your initial 30 minutes you may stay on for an additional 30 minutes for a total of 1 hour before giving up the internet station (whether there is someone waiting or not).
