Requirements to use the Makerspace

To use the makerspace, you must have a Loveland Public Library library card. Library cards can be made at any service desk with a government-issued photo ID. Children under 11 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Usage of the equipment and software is always FREE! 

You must read/watch the provided instructions for the equipment you plan to use and understand that staff may only be available to answer a few periodic questions.

First time users or users who need support must book a time with a Digital Navigator to get started.

As of 01/02/2026 Loveland Public Library's Makerspace is temporarily unavailable. Please check back later or call the Digital Navigators at (970) 962-3154 to get on the waitlist for a makerspace appointment with assistance.

Available Technology Equipment & Instructions

 3D Printing

  • Patrons can learn how to print themselves on a Lulzbot Sidekick.
  • Anything you print during your reserved time in the makerspace is FREE!
  • Print objects up to 4 hours with a build plate capacity of 150mm3
  • Patrons must stay with their print until it is complete.
  • Print toys, gadgets, jewelry, prototypes, décor, figurines, tools, and more!
  • Have a model or object that is larger than 150mm or will take longer than 4 hours? We accept orders to print on a Lulzbot Taz 6 or Lulzbot Workhorse! Orders of any size or length will be weighed; the material fee for orders is 10 cents per gram.

3D Model Libraries

Wanting to print something that has already been designed? Search through the following 3D model websites using a keyword. All files for printing must be in .STL or .OBJ format. 

Mac Computer

Reserve Makerspace Station 3 if you wish to use a Mac computer.

  • One 27″ 5K Retina Display iMacs available to reserve for up to 4 hours per day.
  • Computers not to be used for general web browsing. This can be done in the main computer lab. 
  • A variety of software to design artwork and create digital graphics.
  • Software:
    • Adobe Creative Cloud software (Photoshop, Premiere, Lightroom, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
    • Keynote, Garage Band, iMovie, and more.
    • Audacity, Open Broadcasting, etc.

Accessories available for the iMacs

  • High-resolution Epson photo scanner; capable of scanning photos, film negatives, slides, and more.
  • Wacom and Bamboo digital drawing tablets.
  • Rode professional microphone.
  • Studio quality headphones.
  • Smartshooter for 2D art digitizing.
